Welcome to the Song of the Month Club!
March's song of
the month is a
familiar song,
Adon Olam, sung
to the tune of
the Purim hit:
"Oh today we'll
merry, merry
be."
- Adon Olam is in the Friday night prayer book on page 188 and the Shabbat morning prayer book on page 514
- Adon Olam was written sometime between the 6th and 11th centuries, possibly by medieval poet Solomon Ibn Gvirol
- I could not find any information as far as authorship and dates for "Oh Today We'll Merry, Merry Be," lyrics can be found at the following website: http://www.adatshalom.net/holidays/purimsongs.html
- If you learn the tune once, you will have two chances to sing it over the March 18-20th weekend

We'll Merry Be"
