Buy Scrip -You buy the scrip from the Synagogue at face value and use it to shop for your groceries. You use it just like cash! If you would like to participate just leave your name and number on the phone or e-mail and Marcia will return your call By purchasing scrip for your favorite supermarket, Beth Israel receives 5, 6 or 10%. Remember, you pay no additional money at the supermarket. Stores participating are Giant, Food Lion, McKay’s and Shopper’s Food Warehouse. Scrip is now available before and after Sunday School (see Jerri). Volunteer - Many of our members volunteer their time to keep our congregation working. Among the committees always looking for more hands are Social, House and Fundraising. If you would like to lend a hand and become more involved, just leave your name and number on the phone or e-mail and the appropriate committee chair will return your call. Make a Donation - Donations can be made to the General Fund, the Children's Library Fund, or can be used to purchase a prayer book, a memorial plaque or a rock or leaf on the Tree of Life. Torah Adornment Fund: This fund was developed to purchase torah covers, yads, torah crowns, etc., to beautify our Torahs. Prayer Book Fund: Options to donate to the prayer book fund:
Memorial Board: Donations to the Memorial Board are $150. What a wonderful way to remember a cherished loved one. Tree of Life: Leaves on the Tree of Life cost $150. For more information, contact Herb W. Children's Library Fund: Donate to the children's library fund to make our children's reading choices and experiences more diverse and fulfilling. Building Fund: Donate to the Beth Israel building fund to help beautify and expand our synagogue in its present location. Sunday School Tuition Assistance Fund: Donations to this fund will be used on an as needed basis to pay Sunday school tuition for those students whose families are having financial problems. Rabbi's Discretionary Fund: This fund has been established for the rabbi to use at her discretion. The donations can be used to defray the cost of Hebrew School for a child whose parents cannot afford dues or be donated to a charitable organization at the Rabbi's discretion. It will not be used for the Rabbi's personal expenses or to defray housing or salary expenses.
